To perform the prayer, the worshiper's body, clothing, and the place of prayer must be clean. Prayer is performed facing the Qibla—the Kaaba sanctuary in Mecca. It is customary to use a special mat called a joynamoz (prayer rug) during the prayer. A person may pray alone or in a congregation; however, it is recommended to perform the Friday (Jumu'ah) prayer in a mosque with a congregation. When praying in a group, the worshipers stand in rows, and one of them (the Imam) leads the prayer. During the prayer, talking, eating, drinking, laughing, coughing (without a valid excuse), making various movements, and other such actions are prohibited. Those who are ill or disabled may perform the prayer in whatever position is comfortable for them
